Ashesi Entrepreneurial Ecosystem (AEE)
The AEE, through the Design Lab, Ashesi Enterprise Fund, etc, run various events and initiatives to hone entrepreneurship on campus.
Ashesi Enterprise Fund (AEF)
In line with Ashesi’s mission of educating a new generation of ethical, entrepreneurial leaders in Africa, the Ashesi under the guidance of the Business Administration Department launched the Ashesi Enterprise Fund (AEF) in 2015.
Ashesi iGEM
Ashesi students, none of whom are bio engineering majors are fascinated by opportunities presented them to explore synthetic biology. Since 2017, Ashesi has been engaged in the IGEM competition which gives students the opportunity to push the boundaries of synthetic biology by tackling everyday issues facing the world.
Center for African Popular Culture (CAPC)
The Centre for African Popular Culture at Ashesi University aims to spotlight the intellectual significance of African popular cultural genres.
Education Collaborative
Through the Education Collaborative, Ashesi impacts Global south-south relations. The Education Collaborative is a consortium of universities in Africa drawing on values of mentorship, collaboration and sharing the members share best practices and engage each university’s strength in mentorship.
Ashesi Venture Incubator (AVI)
The Ashesi Venture Incubator has recruited twelve entrepreneurs into its incoming cohort of entrepreneurs, including 8 women who started activities in July 2020 and entered the program as fellows in September 2020.
Ghana Climate Innovation Center (GCIC)
Founded in 2016, GCIC is a business incubator pioneering a unique focus of developing SME ventures and entrepreneurs in Ghana’s ‘Green Economy’. Its mission is to develop and support an exceptional set of transformational ventures and entrepreneurs who are adaptive and mitigating solutions for climate change issues in Ghana.
MASO
MASO is a sub-unit of Ashesi, and it is in partnership with Solidaridad Network, an international civil society organization with the objective to facilitate the development of socially responsible, ecologically sound and profitable supply chains and operates through nine regional expertise centers in over 50 countries.
Practical Education Network (PEN)
PEN equips West African primary and secondary STEM teachers to employ inquiry-based pedagogies in their classrooms, using locally available materials. The organization was founded in 2014 by Dr. Heather Beem, while she was pursuing her PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Currently, she is a a Mechanical Engineer Lecturer at Ashesi.
